Why does this blog exist? My curiosity. I wanted to find out about the services provided by blogger.com

The links on the side are to the 'Real' Wendy House. Below describes partly why these two blogs exist.

The Wendy House V1.0 covers February 2005 thru February 2006 hosted on MSN Spaces. My first experience of blogging. This is now effectively an archive. My reasons for moving away were

• readers had to sign-in with a passport (e.g. hotmail) account to leave a comment.
• the post categorisation system restricted the categories you could add and did not support updating or editting categories.
• personalisation opportunites were very limited and tended to be targetted at teenagers.

I do miss the wonderful integration with MSN messenger and the statistics reporting designed to support non-commercial blogging.

The Wendy House V2.0 is my current blog since February 2006 hosted on its own domain by a web service provider (godaddy) using blogging freeware provided by Wordpress. The web serice provider includes a free statistics package that is aimed at analysising long-term, high volume statistics. Good for business scenarios. Wordpress provides multiple 'plug-in' options including a variety of statistics packages. There are many more customisation opportunities.
